Please read them before you engage the studio. By sending a planning request, confirming a scope note or paying an invoice, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the planning services, though you remain welcome to browse the public pages of the website.

Where a signed scope note or engagement letter states something different from these terms, the signed document governs that engagement. These terms fill the gaps and apply to everything the signed document does not cover.

1. Definitions

In these terms, the Company means DIYTRAVEL.SG PTE. LTD. The Studio means the planning practice operated by the Company, including the desk at 99 ARAB STREET. The Client means the person or organisation that engages the Studio, and a Traveller means any person named on a plan as part of the travelling party.

A Plan Pack means the documents delivered after an engagement, including day cards, transit sequences, budget sheets, food trail maps, entry checklists and group coordination notes. A Scope Note means the short written summary of what the Studio will prepare, the fee and the expected delivery date. Working Material means drafts, notes and intermediate files produced while preparing a Plan Pack.

References to writing include email and other durable electronic messages. References to a day mean a calendar day in Singapore unless otherwise stated. Headings are for ease of reading and do not affect interpretation.

2. Scope of Planning Services

The Studio provides planning assistance for self-guided travel. The six services are custom itinerary design, visa and entry guidance, transit route planning, budget breakdown sheets, local food trail maps and group trip coordination. Each engagement selects one or more of these services, and the Scope Note records the selection.

Planning work is advisory and documentary. The Studio researches routes, checks schedules, drafts day cards and assembles the Plan Pack. The Client remains the organiser of the trip, holds the bookings and makes the decisions while travelling.

Any service not listed in the Scope Note is outside the engagement. If the Client asks for additional work during an engagement, the Studio may agree to it in writing and adjust the fee and delivery date accordingly.

The Studio may decline a request that falls outside its competence, that involves a destination it cannot research properly or that conflicts with these terms. A decline is not a judgement about the Client and carries no penalty.

3. No Booking or Travel Agent Role

The Studio is not a travel agent, tour operator or booking platform. It does not hold inventory, issue tickets, reserve rooms or collect payment on behalf of airlines, hotels, ferry operators or attraction operators. All bookings are made by the Client directly with the relevant provider and are governed by that provider terms.

Where a Plan Pack recommends a provider, the recommendation reflects research at the time of writing. It is not a guarantee of availability, price or quality, and the Studio receives no commission from a provider for a place in a plan.

Because the Studio does not hold bookings, it cannot change, cancel or refund a booking. Any request of that kind must go to the provider that holds the reservation. The Studio can help the Client understand a provider cancellation policy as part of a planning engagement, but it cannot act on the Client behalf in a dispute with that provider.

4. Starting an Engagement

An engagement begins when the Client sends a request, the Studio replies with a Scope Note and the Client confirms acceptance in writing. The Scope Note records the services selected, the travel dates, the party size, the fee, the payment terms and the expected delivery date.

The Studio may ask for a deposit before significant research begins. Work starts once the deposit is received or once the Scope Note expressly waives it. A request that has not been confirmed does not create an obligation on either side.

The Client should name one person as the main contact for the engagement. That person receives the draft documents, gives consolidated feedback and approves the final pack. Where a group has several decision makers, the main contact is responsible for collecting their views before replying to the Studio.

If the Client does not respond to a planning question for more than fourteen days, the Studio may pause the engagement and move the delivery date. Long pauses may require a new Scope Note if the travel dates or the requested services have changed.

5. Fees and Invoicing

Fees are stated in the Scope Note in Singapore dollars unless another currency is agreed. The fee covers the planning work described in the Scope Note and the delivery of one Plan Pack set in digital form. Printing and binding of a physical set may carry a separate charge shown on the invoice.

Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice, usually fourteen days from the date of issue. The Studio may require the full fee before delivery of the final pack. Payment details appear on the invoice, and the Studio does not request payment to an account that differs from the one printed there.

Fees do not include the cost of travel, accommodation, insurance, entry permits or any other expense the Traveller incurs. They also do not include bank charges or currency conversion fees, which are borne by the Client.

If an invoice remains unpaid after the due date, the Studio may suspend work until payment is received. Interest may be charged on overdue amounts at a reasonable rate permitted by law, and the Studio may recover reasonable costs of collecting a debt that remains unpaid after a written reminder.

6. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to provide accurate information about travel dates, party size, names as they appear on travel documents, mobility needs, dietary requirements and the budget band for the trip. A plan is only as good as its inputs, and a change to a passport name after a plan is built can invalidate a booking that the Client has already made.

The Client is responsible for reading the Plan Pack before departure, checking the confirmed bookings against the plan and carrying the documents the plan lists. The Client is also responsible for monitoring provider messages about schedule changes, gate changes and cancellations.

Where a Traveller has a medical condition, an allergy or a mobility requirement, the Client should tell the Studio early and should also confirm suitability directly with any provider involved. The Studio will reflect the information in the plan but cannot assess medical fitness or guarantee that a provider meets an accessibility need.

The Client agrees not to use the Plan Pack for commercial resale. Sharing with the travelling party is expected and permitted; selling the documents or republishing them as a competing product is not.

7. Information Accuracy and Verification

The Studio takes care to verify the information in a Plan Pack at the time of delivery. Schedules change, venues close for renovation, borders adjust their rules and prices move. The Studio cannot guarantee that every detail will still be correct on the day of travel.

Entry guidance is prepared as general information. It is not legal advice and it does not guarantee admission to any country. The immigration authority of the destination makes the final decision, and the Client should confirm current requirements with the official source before travelling.

Budget figures are realistic ranges based on research and recent experience. They are not quotations. Actual spending depends on choices the Traveller makes, on prices at the time of travel and on exchange rates.

If the Client notices a detail that appears wrong or out of date, the Client should tell the Studio. Where the Studio confirms an error in a document it supplied, it will correct the document at no charge. Corrections are provided within the scope of the original engagement.

8. Intellectual Property

The Studio retains ownership of its methods, templates, research notes and Working Material. The Client receives a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the delivered Plan Pack for the trip described in the Scope Note and for any later personal travel by the same household.

The licence permits printing, saving and sharing within the travelling party. It does not permit publishing the pack online, incorporating it into a commercial product, training a competing service on the material or presenting the work as the Client own creation.

Text and images on this website belong to the Company or are used with permission. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of website content. A short quotation with a clear attribution is welcome; wholesale copying is not.

If the Client supplies material such as photographs, route notes or personal reflections for inclusion in a plan, the Client confirms that it has the right to share that material and grants the Studio permission to use it only for preparing the plan.

9. Delivery and Revisions

The Studio delivers the Plan Pack on or before the date recorded in the Scope Note. Delivery is usually by email as a printable file, with a pocket edition formatted for a phone. A physical set is delivered by collection at the Arab Street studio or by a courier service arranged in advance.

One round of revisions is included in every engagement. The Client reviews the draft, collects comments from the travelling party and sends a single consolidated response. The Studio then adjusts the plan and delivers the final version.

Further rounds of revision are welcome and are charged at an hourly rate stated in the Scope Note. A revision that changes the travel dates or the party size may require a new plan rather than an edit, and the Studio will say so before any additional work begins.

Where a trip is postponed, the Studio will hold the plan and refresh it for a new date once, provided the new date is within twelve months of the original. Refresh work depends on the destination and may carry a small charge for substantial changes.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

The Client may cancel an engagement at any time by writing to the Studio. If the cancellation arrives before research begins, the Studio refunds any deposit in full apart from a small administration fee stated in the Scope Note.

If research has begun but no draft has been delivered, the Studio refunds the unused portion of the fee, reflecting the work already completed. If a draft has been delivered, the Studio retains the full fee for the planning work and refunds only charges for physical printing that has not been ordered.

The Studio may cancel an engagement if the Client provides false information, if a request becomes unlawful or abusive, or if a provider arrangement makes the planning work impossible. In such a case the Studio refunds the fee for work not yet performed and explains the reason in writing.

Refunds are made to the payment method used for the invoice within fourteen days of agreement. Bank charges incurred in returning a payment are deducted where the Studio has already paid them.

Cancellations connected to a force majeure event are handled under the section on events beyond control, which may allow a postponement instead of a refund.

11. Travel Risk and Insurance

Travel involves risk. Weather, transport disruption, illness, political events and accidents can all affect a trip, and no plan can remove those risks. The Studio prepares information and options, but the Traveller decides whether to proceed with an activity and accepts the inherent risk of doing so.

The Client should arrange travel insurance that covers medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation and the activities included in the plan. The Studio does not sell insurance and receives no commission from any insurer.

Where a plan includes a walk, a hike or a water activity, the Traveller should assess fitness and conditions on the day. A route that is comfortable in dry weather can be unsafe after heavy rain, and the Studio advice to turn back is always worth taking seriously.

The Studio is not responsible for the conduct of a provider, of another traveller or of any person encountered during a trip. Concerns about safety should be raised with the provider and, where appropriate, with local authorities.

12. Third Party Services

The Plan Pack may refer to transport operators, accommodation providers, venues and official services. Each of those is independent of the Studio, and its terms, prices and cancellation rules apply to the Client directly.

The Studio is not responsible for a third party failure, delay, refusal of service or change of policy. If a provider cancels an element of a trip, the Studio can help the Client review the remaining plan and suggest alternatives, but any refund or compensation must come from the provider.

Links on this website are offered as a convenience. The Studio does not control the content of a linked site and does not endorse every statement made there.

13. Acceptable Website Use

You may browse this website, print pages for personal use and share links with others. You may not scrape the site at a scale that burdens the hosting service, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code or use the contact form to send spam or unlawful material.

The contact form is provided for genuine enquiries about planning services. Messages that promote unrelated products, contain abusive language or impersonate another person will be ignored and may be reported.

The Studio may suspend access to the website for maintenance or security reasons. It does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, though it aims to keep the public pages reachable at all reasonable times.

Any attempt to interfere with the security of the site or to misuse the Studio name may lead to a claim for damages and to a report to the relevant authority.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost holiday time, lost enjoyment, missed connections, additional travel costs or loss of profit arising from the use of a plan or the website.

Where liability cannot be excluded, the total liability of the Company for an engagement is limited to the fee paid for that engagement. This limit does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, to fraud or to any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

The Studio is not liable for a loss caused by information the Client supplied incorrectly, by a Client decision to depart from the plan or by a third party event outside the Studio control.

Nothing in these terms affects statutory rights that a consumer cannot waive. If a provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force.

15. Indemnity

The Client agrees to indemnify the Company against reasonable losses, costs and claims that arise from the Client breach of these terms, from unlawful use of a Plan Pack or from a claim brought by a member of the travelling party against the Studio in connection with a decision that the Client made.

This indemnity does not apply where the loss results from the Studio own negligence or breach. It is intended to cover situations such as the Client supplying a false document, reselling a plan or using the Studio name without permission.

A party seeking indemnity must notify the other promptly, allow the other to participate in the defence of a claim and avoid admitting liability without agreement. Reasonable cooperation is expected from both sides.

16. Events Beyond Control

Neither party is liable for a delay or failure caused by an event beyond reasonable control. Such events include natural disasters, severe weather, epidemics, government restrictions, border closures, strikes, transport shutdowns and failures of public communications networks.

Where such an event prevents delivery of a Plan Pack, the Studio will notify the Client promptly and agree a new delivery date. Where the event makes the planned trip impossible, the Client may ask to postpone the engagement to a later date within twelve months without an additional planning fee, subject to a refresh charge for substantial route changes.

Where postponement is not workable, the refund section applies, with the Studio retaining payment for work already completed. Both parties will act reasonably and in good faith when deciding how to proceed.

18. Changes to These Terms

The Company may update these terms to reflect a change in the law, a change in the services or a lesson learned from a past engagement. The current version is always available on this website, and the review date at the top shows when it was last amended.

A change applies to engagements confirmed after the update. An engagement already underway continues under the terms that applied when it was confirmed, unless both parties agree in writing to adopt the new version.

If a change is material, the Studio will highlight it in a note on this page for a reasonable period so that returning clients can see what differs from the version they read before.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, subject to any right that a consumer may have to bring a claim in another forum under mandatory law.

Before starting a formal claim, the parties should try to resolve the matter directly. The Client may write to the Studio setting out the issue and the outcome sought. The Studio will reply in writing within a reasonable period, usually fourteen days, and will propose a meeting or call if that would help.

If direct discussion does not resolve the matter, the parties may agree to mediation with a neutral mediator in Singapore. Mediation costs are shared equally unless the mediator decides otherwise. A settlement reached in mediation is recorded in writing and is binding on both parties.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent relief from a court where delay would cause harm.

20. Contact and Notices

Notices under these terms should be sent in writing to DIYTRAVEL.SG PTE. LTD. at 99 ARAB STREET, Singapore 199795, or by email to contact@diytravelsg.lol. The Studio may also be reached by telephone at +18457399870 during business hours.

A notice sent by email is treated as received on the next business day after it is sent, provided no error message is returned. A notice sent by post is treated as received five business days after dispatch. The Client should send notices to the contact details recorded in the Scope Note if different from the public address.

These terms, together with the Scope Note and the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement on their subject. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.
